Evangelism
The Evangelism Chairman and Committee are
committed to recruiting and retaining Church members, increasing
participation in Church activities and encouraging involvement
in all aspects of the Church.
Tasks/Assignments
· Identify and execute programs to
encourage existing and potential members to get more involved
in our Church and to live as Christian disciples.
· Identify and welcome visitors, follow-up on visitors
providing information in our Sunday attendance book. Offer
an invitation kit to all visitors. Add these individuals
to our guest list for Choir special performances and add
to our list to receive Church newsletter.
· Develop a sponsorship program where new members
joining are sponsored by a member of the Evangelism team.
The Evangelism team member introduces new members to the
Church and provides a personal orientation on the offerings
of our Church. The assigned team member will also be responsible
for making “we missed you” telephone calls.
· Stay in touch with members through telephone calls,
notes, email and newsletter.
· Provide articles for Church newsletter introducing
new members.
· Develop a website to expand our reach into the
community, attract new members, improve communications with
our members and keep them engaged in church activities,
as well as promote community events of interest to our members
such as performances by the Centenary Choir.
Why Does This Ministry Exist?
The purpose of this committee is reach out
to people with the good news of Jesus Christ, welcoming
them with genuine Christian hospitality so that they may
develop a relationship with God and live as Christian disciples.
